Jim Begley, Mission Essential
Jim has been with MISSION ESSENTIAL since 2006, and now serves as the Vice President and General Manager of Mission Essential’s Language and Training Solutions businesses. He is responsible for leading and managing a worldwide linguist workforce supporting U.S. military, intelligence, and law enforcement customers. In addition to leading all operational aspects of the company’s two divisions, Jim is also charged with further diversifying the company’s core capabilities to new customers.
During his tenure, Jim has served in several critical roles at Mission Essential. Jim first joined Mission Essential in 2006 as a recruiter and successfully built and sustained a pipeline of linguists in support of the Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) contract. As a recruiting manager he implemented processes and procedures that dramatically increased the company’s ability to recruit, qualify and deploy linguists. As a Capture Manager, Jim was a member of the executive team that won the INSCOM Operation Enduring Freedom – Afghanistan contract, stood up and staffed the processing center, and created the foundation for Mission Essnetial’s growth organization and capture components. As the Director of Capture Management, he built, mentored and developed the Capture and Proposal departments while facilitating the revenue growth of the organization from 2007 through 2008. As Special Advisor to the CEO, Jim was responsible for coordinating executive-level support to the company’s deployed workforce while leading corporate-level initiatives and activities. He also served as Executive to the Board of Managers and ensured a smooth transfer of authority to a new CEO and COO. As Director of Corporate Performance and Enterprise Risk Management, Jim established and led critical activities throughout the organization to drive efficiency and profitability. He also built the foundation for a corporate-wide risk management program that supports global operations. As the Vice President for Proposal Development & Growth he successfully led the growth teams in the pursuit of key strategic opportunities aimed at driving growth and diversification of revenue in the Intelligence Community. He coordinated corporate activities to meet organizational growth goals while developing and executing plans to ensure continuous progression towards strategic objectives.
Prior to joining Mission Essential, Jim worked in sales at J.P. Morgan Chase and BMW Financial Services.
Jim earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The Citadel, and a Master of Business Administration from Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business.
