TFDF assists Special Operations service members and their families with needs that are not covered by the DoD, VA or their insurance. The needs that we cover are diverse and cover every type of assistance both medical and other immediate needs as identified from either the unit chain of command or the US Special Operations Command’s Warrior Care Program. The needs are usually from a service member being wounded in combat, injured in training, or an illness that occurs on active duty and resulting hardships. TFDF also covers the family member with support because of cancer and other illnesses/needs where there are gaps in coverage through Tricare or the VA. It is important for the service member to know that he and his/her family will have an organization that will help in their time of need.
We work very closely with the US Special Operations Command’s Warrior Care Program and the unit chain of command to ensure that every need is vetted and verified and that the service member and his or her family has the best assistance both financially as well as family/unit support team to ensure the best possible outcome.
TFDF has assisted many service member and family members and these are only a few examples:
Assisted with the Tricare deductible/copay for the surgery and treatment of a service member family whose three month old daughter needed a heart transplant
Worked with a sister organization and provided a treadmill workstation to a service member with pain issues
Funded service dogs for multiple SOCOM service members and family members
Provided two cranial helmets for twins suffering from Congenital Musculoskeletal Deformities of the Skull, Face, and Jaw
Provided fuel, flights, and lodging for service member, spouses, and children undergoing chemotherapy treatment for cancer
