Executive Director

Alan retired from Special Operations Command – Central in Sept 2017. Over his 26 year career, he spent more than 15 years in SOF and 3rd Special Forces Group. Alan has deployed eight times to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan with numerous CONUS deployments for training.

After his retirement Alan continued to give back to the regiment as an instructor teaching Advanced Special Operation Skills and as a Joint Expeditionary Team (JET) advisor in Afghanistan. These jobs kept Alan in touch with the regiment that became his life and was a way for him to continue to help and share his experiences in the most hostile of environments.

Alan now continues to serve the entire SOF community as the Executive Director for the Task Force Dagger Special Operations Foundation (TFDSOF). He was a program recipient in 2016 during a SOCOM Military Adaptive Sports program. As he learned more about TFDSOF he continued to look for ways to help the foundation, whether helping with hurricane cleanup in the Florida Keys after Hurricane Irma or volunteering his time as the Dive Safety Officer and member of the Dive Control Board (DCB).

“I never would have imagined that I would be in this position. I have always wanted to be able to continue to help the SOF community one way or the other. It is truly an Honor to be able to give to the SOF community in this way. I am so Thankful for this Opportunity.” Alan Williams

About Us

Since 2009, Task Force Dagger Special Operations Foundation has provided critical support to wounded, ill, or injured U.S. Special Operations Command members and their families. Task Force Dagger’s three core programs — Immediate Needs, Health Initiatives, and Rehabilitative Adaptive Events — quickly help when there’s an emergency, provide next-generation health solutions for issues, and organize events that help SOF members with recovery. As a veteran-operated nonprofit, Task Force Dagger understands the needs and experiences of the Special Operations Forces community. Each program is designed to heal, rebuild, and strengthen the service member and their family by providing mission, purpose, and focus.
